This is sort-of like the reverse of Breakout.

Blocks fall and you must catch them on your paddle, building conductive stacks.

Zapper blocks trigger an electrical jolt to blocks with smaller numbers, scoring based on:

  • The difference between the zapper's number and the terminating block
  • The number of blocks in the route

If you miss a zapper or a numbered block, your paddle accumulates charge, making it harder to trigger jolts.

Earth blocks wipe out numbers, providing a welcome reset when things get sloppy.

I think gameplay would be improved if the "number" (gold-ringed) blocks were unbreakable, or at least only breakable by the paddle. This would make you have to think more carefully and might stop the frantic left/right spamming as things heat up. Unfortunately, the assumptions I baked into the collision code from the start make this tricky to add... and I ran out of time to do it during the Game Jam.

I really like the idea and that it was made in Pico 8! Simple rules everything is great and i can say it quite addictive
